I had some trouble trying to find the engine in my dad's Beetle a couple of weekends ago. Good thing Vance was there.

For details on the restoration of my father's bug click here.
National Geographic had an article on this fellow who placed a camera in the path of a tornado. The pictures were remarkably familiar to the mental images produced by that thing called "life". Only it's not really life, it is this manufactured blur of priorities, constructed somehow in the (vanity of vanities) hope to be Something.
My old bandmate, Jason Alligood, moved to Colorado. He and his wife Shelly, quit their jobs, Engineer and School Teacher, sold their possessions (or most of them), and drove out West; into the Sunset.
It's one of the most spiritual things I seen. He's been there for about two years and every time we talk there is liberty in his speech and freedom in his motions. It was Abandonment.
He told me something like this, as he was leaving Florida, "We all make the choice. Everyone makes the choice. Mortgage, car, jobs. I'm choosing not to."

It's amazing how the global our experiences can be.
Here's a music video from the UK, mostly about being a kid in the 80's. Well, perhaps that is misleading. Anyway, it's quite good.
