    Magazine Thanks

I wanted to say "thank you" to whomever got me a subscription to Organic Gardening. It could just be a complimentary issue to get me to subscribe, but if it is a gift that keeps on coming, my many thanks to that thoughtful person.

(Also, sorry to Michelle for accidentally posting this on her site...)

    General Updates - Slackers Extraordinaire

Also known as the list that should bore you to tears, yet explain why we never post anything timely or newsworthy on our blog.

    Movies We've Seen Lately:

    • King Kong: scary bugs, great weepy scenes & wow, how sad. Don't go to see it if you're looking for a light comedy.
    • Price & Prejudice: One of my favorites, this is an incredible telling of the story cinematic. The two leads are great actors and dang it, it's the best love story EVER. I mean EVER!!! Nothing like the stubborn, mouthy chick getting the up-tight, righteous man. I wouldn't understand that at all.

New Rule for Gift Giving: If it requires batteries, it MUST have an off switch.

Number of items painted lately: My bedroom (fava bean), baseboards in my bedroom (due to the new wood floor), 2 cabinets for Adah's room (lanern light yellow and pasture's edge green), wooden circles for a canvas for baby's room, and tomorrow (or soon) Adah's headboard for her big girls bed.

Things to remember from recent lessons learned:

    • Wear gloves when painting with oil based paint!! Talk about your hands on fire from mineral spirits.
    • Do not give Adah a handful of M&Ms before bed.
    • You get BIG when you're pregnant. Oh yeah...avoid full length mirrors after the 7th month!
    • I cannot do everything. Actually, at this point in this pregnancy, I don't seem to be able to do much of anything. (Yes, I am complaining.)
    • "Use your words" works both ways, mom. (What? I can't just slam the door?!)

    Blah, Blah, Blah

I'm due in about six weeks. I am BIG. Hear me roar! Where does the time go? I haven't been doing any of those relaxation exercises, but that hasn't stopped me deciding to have a home birth. (Yeah, I'm crazy, but what's the difference between being at home and being at the birth cottage?) The nursery isn't set up. I don't have a stack of baby clothes or supplies ready.

Ah, the beauty of the second child.
